The honey-bee lab
The documents on this door come out of the Honey Bee Research and Extension Laboratory at UF/IFAS in Gainesville. Research, extension, Bee College, and the association list are four different jobs. Name them, then open the lab’s own page.
What the lab publishes
- **Research.** Varroa, small hive beetle, Africanized honey bee, and colony papers that become EDIS numbers (the Florida Beekeeping Management Calendar, the small hive beetle paper, How to Quantify Varroa destructor, Keeping Bees in Florida).
- **Extension.** County agents and club nights. Orange County’s extension page points backyard keepers to Orange Blossom Beekeepers Association.
- **Bee College.** The lab’s teaching event. Dates live on the lab calendar, not here.
- **Association list.** Statewide clubs the lab names, including Orange.

UF's FAQs page also names Two Bees in a Podcast, a weekly show from the lab. Dedicated podcast URLs failed on 2026-08-30. Cite the FAQs page until a live show URL returns.
